On-line supermarket

Want to buy everything one one go. Zooplus is the online supper market for dogs and other animals and a great place to buy collar, crate, leads and harnesses etc. I also buy a lot of my dog food here.

They also offer a range of discounts on individual products, loyalty points (I use them for treats) and loyalty discounts.

Please note for treats in Norwich I do advise going into Pettitt and Boo as they can advise the perfect treat of your dog’s age and bread.

How to introduce new equipment

When introducing new equipment to your dog, it important that this is done in a positive way.  Often even confident puppies don’t like new brushes and harnesses put onto them without warning.  I know I wouldn’t.
Start by showing them the item for them to see and sniff.  Add treats around it to show “this is a good thing”.  Once accepted, pick it up and again show it to them near to their face, with treats if needed.  And with harnesses, put the ‘reward’ hand through it and give them the treat while you put it onto your dog.  With brushes, offer a treat while to start brushing.  All motions should be calm and unforced.

Ideally with dogs that will need lots of grooming, equipment should be introduced before 5 months, even if they don’t need it at that age.  Repeat for the next 2 or 3 times with less treats each time and you should be well on your way to happy grooming.  Brushing is great for bonding with your dog and for their skin.

Remember each dog is different.
